busy as usual

olà, Here are some pictures from the last few days. It's been busy as usual, but i'm keeping my head above water (black coffee can do magic). I'm working on a lot of different stuff again, most of which will be uploaded here soon. Like a presentation for multimedia about Jenny Holzer (an American conceptual artist), finishing the script and drawing the storyboard for my shortfilm 'talker', starting a new Jeff Wall-inspired work for the digital photography class, attending 3D classes and preparing some other stuff while enjoying Portugal's nightlife and the joyfull christmas spirit. I'm considering a visit to some other parts of Portugal (Porto, Sintra,...) in the next couple of weeks, before the sun decides to stay hidden for a while. Cause it dawned on me that we're almost december and after new year I'm afraid to get snowed under with final assignments from both Belas Artes and my 'generous' home school KASK.

christmas arrived

Christmas arrived in Lisbon, the city is decorated with a numerous amount of lights and other frills creating a unique and enchanting scenography. In Porto the biggest christmas tree of Europe was lighted last week, thousands of lights now sparkle in this 76 metres high colossus. Didn't we have the biggest (and ugliest) three in Belgium a few years ago?

that typical jazzy feeling

Yesterday me and Mena, a nice portuguese girl, went to a jazz club in Alfama called 'ondajazz bar'. Their was a concert of the Portuguese group 'Julio Resende Quarteto'. My first impression of the bar was that it lacked that typical jazzy feeling, but after a few glasses of delicious red wine the atmosphere suited this amazing musical journey perfectly. The quartet's playlist varied between powerfull, original compositions by Julio Resendo and melodic jazz-versions of rock/pop songs by radiohead and Aimee Mann. But I don't feel like talking really, so as a short roundup: Great concert, great mood, great wine, great evening! Enjoy the pictures.

leftovers

These are some pictures that didn't make it thru the previous selections, some of these leftovers were used in graphic works but most of them are just random pictures of strangers on the subway, lovers on the mirador and of course our gorgeous cats!
